Will You Be Our First Village Painters Dumpster DIVA?
The October Painting Challenge will be to paint an old, used item and turn it into something of beauty! The winner will earn a $25 certificate** towards an education seminar and title of "Dumpster Diva". Of course, what would a title be without a crown!!! Follow these five simple steps and you’re on your way:
Step 1: Find a Surface
Look for something uniquely old and yucky that you can turn into a beautifully painted treasure. The attic, basement, closet, neighborhood yard sales, flea markets or even curbside trash are great places to look for your surface.
Step 2: Take a Picture
Photograph your surface before you start to work on it, or, bring it to an upcoming general meeting and we’ll photograph it for you. A "before" photo is required for all entries.
Step 3: Register
Fill out a "Dumpster DIVA Registration Form" and submit it along with your surface photograph. The registration forms can be obtained at the April, June, or August general meetings, on-line at the VP web-site, or in the upcoming VP newsletters.
Step 4: Paint Your Surface
Get started soon, but don’t panic – you’ve got six whole months to finish!
Step 5: Submit Your Entry
Bring your finished piece to display at the October general meeting. All members attending the meeting will be given one token to vote for their favorite piece. The piece receiving the most votes will win a $25 certificate for a seminar and title of Dumpster DIVA! The winner will be announced that evening.
